Statue of and altar to goddess Žemyna, and burning of straw sculptures and goat to the thunder god Perkūnas, as sites of ritual for the Autumn Equinox in Lithuania.
Cultivate your practice and presence in a week-long community meditation intensive online, including the Autumn Equinox.
Meditation is absolutely amazing — we change our brains, growing our pre-frontal cortex, the part of our brain that tells the rest of us we can chill, building our capacity to be present with what's here and to experience joy.
This Autumn Equinox 7-Day Meditation Intensive marks the change of the seasons. In Lithuanian paganism, the Autumn Equinox marks the shift in our attention from celebrating growth, lightning, and thunderstorms, to embracing metaphorical death, the dead and our ancestors, and clearing out space. It's a time of expressing gratitude to the sun goddess, Saulė, to the sacred land and soil goddess, Žemyna, and to the domestic god of the home, Žemėpatis. Autumn in Ayurveda is known to be transitional, physically and mentally windy. What a beautiful moment for us to be together, create space, ground ourselves through meditation, and cultivate our inner attention and ability to be present.
For 7 days, Sunday through Saturday, we meet virtually daily. Our first day together, Sunday, we meet for one hour, and go over the meditation technique, sit, and connect in community, grounding into our familial and ancestral practices of the Autumn Equinox. Monday through Friday, we meet for 30 minutes, which includes a 25-ish minute seated practice. Saturday, we meet for one hour, to sit, explore questions, and celebrate.
If you already have a meditation practice and want to be in community and practice your own style, you're more than welcome to.
